Papagayo INSHORE rooster fishing
We offer inshore Sport fishing in the Gulf Papagayo to catch Roosterfish, our activity is in search inshore species that can be caught trolling or bottom fishing as: Dorado (mahimahi) and yellowfin tuna, on bottom fishing to catch snapper and hamberjack.
Regarding the Roosterfish, they usually are very shallow water like 20ft or deeper and have an average size of 50 to 70 pounds, with some specimens reaching up to 70 pounds. Roosterfish in the Gulf Papagayo are robust and put up a good fight lasting up to 45 minutes depending on their size, it is not considered an edible species, it is one of the most requested attractions by the anglers who visit us and who like good action in shallow waters in the Gulf of Papagayo.

Also, we do afternoon Inshore fishing charters, we can pick you up at your hotel beach at 1:00 pm, or, earlier if it is possible. We do trolling for mahi-mahi, yellow fin tuna and rooster fish, too, we train in bottom fishing jigging to catch red snapper and Cubera snapper.
You can also bring your own fishing tackle as well!
